TNT has renewed its light caper drama Leverage for a fifth season with a 15-episode order. Season 5 will launch next summer. The series, starring Timothy Hutton as the leader of a gang of grifters, hackers and thieves out to settle scores against the rich and powerful, will wrap its summer run Aug. 28 and return with the conclusion of its fourth season in November.

Leverage is the latest TNT series to be renewed this summer following the recent pickups of Rizzoli & Isles, Falling Skies and Franklin & Bash. Men of a Certain Age has been canclled and there is still no word on Hawthorne and Memphis Beat. Leverage premiered in 2008 and has grown its audience each of its four seasons. This summer, it has averaged 4.8 million viewers, up 10% over Season 3, with 1.9 million adults 18-49 (+6%). Leverage is produced by Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment, with Dean Devlin and creators John Rogers and Chris Downey serving as executive producers.

Leverage Renews for Season 5!

Release Date: 8/12/2011

TNT Adds More Leverage as Hit Caper Series Enjoys Best Season Yet

TNT has renewed its fast-paced, light-hearted caper drama Leverage for a fifth season, just as the fourth season is shaping up to score the show’s biggest ratings yet. TNT has ordered 15 episodes of Leverage, with the fifth season slated to launch in summer 2012. The series – which centers on a gang of grifters, hackers and thieves out to settle scores against the rich and powerful – currently airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). After the show’s Aug. 28 summer finale, Leverage will return to wrap up its fourth season with new episodes in November and December.

Leverage is the latest high-profile series renewal from TNT following new season orders for Rizzoli & Isles, which is running neck-and-neck with TNT’s The Closer as basic cable’s #1 series; Falling Skies, which ranks as basic cable’s #1 new series for the year-to-date; and Franklin & Bash, which ranks among basic cable’s Top 10 new series this summer. TNT’s top-ranked drama The Closer is in the midst of its extended final season, which will continue in the winter and wrap in summer 2012.

Leverage premiered in 2008 and has grown its audience in each of its four seasons. This summer, leading into TNT’s new blockbuster hit Falling Skies, Leverage has expanded its audience to more than 4.8 million viewers, up 10% over season three, with 1.9 million adults 18-49 (+6%) and 2.3 million adults 25-54 (+9%).

“While many shows decline in their second, third or fourth seasons, Leverage has defied the odds and continued to climb,” said Michael Wright, executive vice president and head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “More and more viewers are discovering this weekly joy ride through wonderfully complex schemes and con games, all brought to life through smart writing, sharp directing and a terrific cast.”

Leverage stars Academy Award® winner Timothy Hutton as insurance-investigator-turned-thief Nate Ford, who makes it his mission to bring down those who use their power and wealth to victimize others. Also starring are Gina Bellman as brilliant grifter Sophie Devereaux, Christian Kane as retrieval specialist Eliot Spencer, Beth Riesgraf as slightly off-center thief Parker and Aldis Hodge as gadget and technology wizard Alec Hardison. Leverage is produced by Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment, with Dean Devlin and creators John Rogers and Chris Downey serving as executive producers.

Extra Chances at Leverage Poster Contest

 Help the LA Mission

Aldis Hodge has helped out the LA Mission for many years, due to his personal connection to homelessness. Last year I did Angels for Aldis Auction and donated $2500 in his name to the Mission as his Christmas present. Unfortunately – homelessness is a year round problem. So for additional opportunities to win the poster mentioned here. I will give you 5 numbers (in the drawing) for a $5 donation to the LA Mission. You can donate on their website: https://www.losangelesmission.org/Donate/OnlineDonation.aspx and comment on this post, then email me the confirmation (without any of your confidental information!). If you donate more than $5, I will give you a number for each $1 above $5!

  • You can earn extra numbers even if you’ve already got some from your trivia answers!

Yes I realize the poster probably isn’t worth a huge amount of money to some of you, but this is such a good cause. They can do so much with each dollar and what might seem like a small amount to you – is huge to them. I will be having the auction again this Christmas but I would really like to encourage people to donate at other times during the year.

Please check out their page – www.losangelesmission.org for any questions. Currently you can only use a credit card to make these donations so if you want to donate from Paypal instead, please email me at admin@aldis-hodge.com and I will give you my Paypal address and make the donation for you.

 Hodge Enjoys Bad Guy Role

Aldis Hodge loves playing bad guy Alec Hardison on the TNT drama, “Leverage.”“I have played the bad guy who has helped people and the whole nine,” explained Hodge, 24, who began his acting career at the age of three. “Now I’m playing a thief who steals back for the good guy in a peculiar way. We always have to play a character inside of a character. That kind of stuff is fun.”

THE GEEK—Aldis Hodges plays Alex Hardison.

Started at the end of 2008, “Leverage” centers’ around once loyal fraud investigator Nathan Ford, played by Timothy Hutton. Ford became disloyal to the insurance company after it refused to pay for experimental treatment that could have saved his son’s life. Due to his intricate knowledge of scams, Ford is recruited to join a team of talented criminals to steal back aeronautical plans that were supposedly stolen by a competitor.

Once the job is complete, Ford and his team are double crossed and are not paid for their work. Ford and his team members decide to create Leverage Consulting & Associates, fighting for people who were victimized by corporations or individuals with wealth and influence to avoid prosecution from the legal system.

Want to win a Season 4 Leverage Wall Poster??

 Trivia Contest

Thanks to Laura @ TNT I have a wall size poster to give away in a trivia contest! Everyone who answers these five questions on this post, will be given a number in an email. This isn’t the regular 11×14 sized cardboard ones given at Fancon – this is the BIG wall-size poster. I would measure it if I could find my measuring tape lol but they’re normal poster size. At the end of the contest I will ask Aldis to Tweet one number in the range of the numbers given out! Remember you MUST put in your email address, Twitter address, or FB name in the comment. I won’t approve the comments until after the contest is over (so no one cheats!)

The contest ends on August 14th, 2011 at 8:00PM EST – the night Leverage returns with a double header: The Grave Danger Job and The Boiler Room Job! The winner will be announced as soon as I can get Aldis to tweet the number after that :D

ALL ANSWERS MUST BE CORRECT to get a number!

1) What big important thing did Aldis’ character on Supernatural do to Sam Winchester?
2) How old was Aldis when he found out he got the role as Hardison on Leverage?
3) Who does Aldis say is his biggest influence?
4) What does Aldis design?
5) Name 2 movies that Aldis did with his brother as a co-star.

  • An EXTRA number given if you can name this one! (so two chances to win!)

6) What is a movie that he was in that included a co-star that was in Lost and also a co-star that is in Memphis Beat?

 Remember

You must comment with all the correct answers for 1-5 to get a number. #6 is an extra one so if you don’t get it right, you still can get one number! All entries must be submitted by August 14th, 2011 at 8:00PM EST. All entries after that will not be allowed.

Not restricted by location! Anyone can enter (although outside the US will add shipping time!)

Also – please hit the home page and let me know whatcha think about the new layout and design!

Have questions?  You can either email me at admin@aldis-hodge.com OR tweet me at @alikat_7 or @aldishodgefans :) Either one works!

Here is a picture of a poster that was just sent to me  (not the actual poster but identical to it – this one is actually hung up and the one I have is brand new, never been used)

Leverage Sneak Peak – The Carnival Job

New layout and some new content!

 New layout

We have a new layout! Hope you’ll like it. New sliding headers on the home page and every other page with different pics (season 1 quotes have season 1 Leverage pics, Biography are professional pics of Aldis, etc) Plus I added some new content under Hardison Bytes – a video portfolio that’s the ‘Best of’ from Season 4 episodes so far. Still to be added will be a few more video portfolios of Leverage and other roles Aldis has played. Also a section from his question and answers from Twitter will be added as soon as I can and kept up to date as he continues.

Also – check out the awesome new banners and buttons (by my wonderful and creative friend Sai) we have on our ‘Link Back to Us’ tab of Websites. Show your hacker love and promote our site!

A big thank you to Meike @ Reality’s End for her help fixing some of the glitches in the layout and to Anjalee for her help with the glitch in the portfolio. Hugs to my glitch-fixing friends!
