Angels for Aldis Auction to Begin on January 21st!

The Angels for Aldis Auction to benefit the LA Mission will begin this Saturday, January 21 (time TBD) and will run for 2 weeks. I have lots of Leverage, Supernatural, and music items that have been donated to the cause so it’s going to be great. Last year I donated $2500 made from the auction to the LA Mission in Aldis’ name as his Christmas gift. This year, due to his filming schedule and other factors I had to postpone the auction but now I have most items in hand, I’ll be posting the list and details on Saturday. If you want to donate something to be auctioned off, even after the auction begins, you can email me admin@aldis-hodge.com and I will list it. Last year a lot of items were donated after I began and did really well!

Once again, I will be donating 100% of the proceeds from the auction to the LA Mission, Aldis’ favorite charity, in his name. This is an extraordinary group of people who feed the homeless in LA for 75 years. Please follow them on Twitter @thelamission or like their FB Page.

Here is their website: http://www.losangelesmission.org/Home.aspx

Angels for Aldis Auction 2011

Last year, I created a charity auction as a surprise holiday gift for Aldis called “Angels for Aldis”. The auction was a special Christmas event consisting of donated items and 100% of the proceeds benefitted Aldis’s favorite charity. The auction raised $2,500, which was then conveyed to L.A. Mission in his name. You can find a link to the L.A. Mission and to information on the 2010 auction at the bottom of this post.

With last year’s amazing success, especially since the auction was planned in only 3 weeks, I have decided to attempt to create an annual “Angels for Aldis” auction. Last year, most items were Leverage-related donations Aldis’ mother, Electric Entertainment, Christian Kane, as well as donations from musicians Riley Smith, Steve Carlson, and Jason Manns. Additionally, we had a lot of items donated by fans. I’m working on getting more items from the celebs but I need the fans to participate as well!

I would like to try to double the Angels for Aldis donation in 2011 but I need your help to do so.  Will you be willing to donate something to the cause? It can be something you create – jewelry, pottery, clothing, fanfiction, fanvideos, graphics, etc – or something you have that others might want – autographed items from celebs, rare items like out-of-print CDs or magazines, convention or concert memorabilia, etc. (doesn’t have to be Leverage based – we auctioned off a David Boreanaz autographed photo!)  or even services you can provide – webpage design, etc. There are a lot of things fans can do that other fans would be interested in purchasing! Dig deep for a good cause!

If you’re willing to contribute, please contact me as soon as possible – admin@aldis-hodge.com

The Birthday Job!

Aldis’ birthday is coming up again on September 20, 2011. This is what I did last year:

He and his mother really liked it last year so I’m going to do the same type of thing this year. I need graphics and messages from his fans though. Without them, its impossible! lol So please send me graphics (size: 1280 x 720 – must be landscape/horizontal orientation to work) It can be something simple, like one of his pics with some text on it or complex, like a wallpaper. You can use a quote, send a message, or just say Happy Birthday, whatever you want. But please make sure you put your name on it though so he’ll know who its from (whichever name you want to use) Since his mother will be seeing this though and I don’t want to be rude to Aldis, please remember to keep it at a respectful level!

I need everything sent to me by September 16, 2011 at 11:00pm so I can make the video. I’d prefer it soon though. Please send the graphic to admin@aldis-hodge.com.

DEADLINE EXTENDED TO SEPTEMBER 18, 2011. LET ME KNOW IF YOU’RE GOING TO SUBMIT SOMETHING TODAY THOUGH!

Thanks so much. I know Aldis really appreciated the messages last  year and I’d like to have as many or even more this year!

NEW YouTube Channel

Recently I got my second warning for copyright violations for uploading Friday Night Light clips onto our YouTube channel (HitsHackersNTraining. If I get a third, they delete my channel. My first was for something 13 months ago but they never took it off after 6 months like they were supposed to. Kinda stupid.

Anywho, I thought I’d set this one up right and put everything in the right order starting with the Best of Hardison clips from Season 1. Also, I wanted to make the name a little easier to remember. For now I will keep two channels until I get everything moved over to the new one but nothing new will be uploaded on the old one. It will eventually just be a backup account. At any rate, please subscribe to the new Aldis Hodge Online YouTube channel (click the text to go to the YouTube channel!) and check out the Best of Hardison scenes from Season 1, Episodes 1-6 that I uploaded the last two days! Hopefully by the end of the week I’ll have all of Season 1 Best of Videos!

New Gallery Re-Design

To go along with the slick new page theme, I decided our fun and ‘funky’ cool gallery design needed to change too. So I went to my friends Sai and Koryou for help.

“I get by with a little help from my friends…”

Seriously.

Artwork was done by the lovely Sai using an amazing photo by Micaela Bensko and another one by Mike Quain (with their permission) Then I asked the wonderful Koryou at Reality’s End to design & code a layout that was cleaner, sleeker, and more organized looking.

Thanks soo much, you wonderful ladies!

Hope you enjoy it! I’ve been working hard to get the gallery up-to-date with all of Aldis’ previous TV shows and movies and am only about 6 things short of completion on screen caps for years prior to 1995-2006! All things from 2006 to current have been added (except screen caps from the last two episodes of Leverage) though so feel free to poke around!

Leverage Renews for Season 5!

Release Date: 8/12/2011

TNT Adds More Leverage as Hit Caper Series Enjoys Best Season Yet

TNT has renewed its fast-paced, light-hearted caper drama Leverage for a fifth season, just as the fourth season is shaping up to score the show’s biggest ratings yet. TNT has ordered 15 episodes of Leverage, with the fifth season slated to launch in summer 2012. The series – which centers on a gang of grifters, hackers and thieves out to settle scores against the rich and powerful – currently airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). After the show’s Aug. 28 summer finale, Leverage will return to wrap up its fourth season with new episodes in November and December.

Leverage is the latest high-profile series renewal from TNT following new season orders for Rizzoli & Isles, which is running neck-and-neck with TNT’s The Closer as basic cable’s #1 series; Falling Skies, which ranks as basic cable’s #1 new series for the year-to-date; and Franklin & Bash, which ranks among basic cable’s Top 10 new series this summer. TNT’s top-ranked drama The Closer is in the midst of its extended final season, which will continue in the winter and wrap in summer 2012.

Leverage premiered in 2008 and has grown its audience in each of its four seasons. This summer, leading into TNT’s new blockbuster hit Falling Skies, Leverage has expanded its audience to more than 4.8 million viewers, up 10% over season three, with 1.9 million adults 18-49 (+6%) and 2.3 million adults 25-54 (+9%).

“While many shows decline in their second, third or fourth seasons, Leverage has defied the odds and continued to climb,” said Michael Wright, executive vice president and head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “More and more viewers are discovering this weekly joy ride through wonderfully complex schemes and con games, all brought to life through smart writing, sharp directing and a terrific cast.”

Leverage stars Academy Award® winner Timothy Hutton as insurance-investigator-turned-thief Nate Ford, who makes it his mission to bring down those who use their power and wealth to victimize others. Also starring are Gina Bellman as brilliant grifter Sophie Devereaux, Christian Kane as retrieval specialist Eliot Spencer, Beth Riesgraf as slightly off-center thief Parker and Aldis Hodge as gadget and technology wizard Alec Hardison. Leverage is produced by Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment, with Dean Devlin and creators John Rogers and Chris Downey serving as executive producers.
